How it works
Open a chat
On ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any supported site, ChatSave adds an Export button beside Copy under each reply and an Export chat button for the whole conversation.
Pick a format
PDF, Word, Markdown, Notion, HTML, text or JSON. Tick "Include my prompts" to keep your questions, or export answers only.
Get the file
Headings, lists, tables, code blocks and links come through intact. Tool-use chips, thinking summaries and UI clutter are left out.
Your conversations stay on your computer
- PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML, text and JSON are generated inside your browser and saved locally.
- ChatSave has no server. There is no account and no usage tracking of your chat content.
- A network request happens only when you choose Sync to Notion or Publish as web page, and only to that service.
- Permissions are limited to the chat sites it supports plus storage for your settings.

If you want a shareable link instead of a file, Publish as web page turns the chat into a page on your own free Fylo site, and Publish code as a live site deploys HTML from a reply as a working website. Both are optional.

How do I export a ChatGPT conversation to PDF?
Install ChatSave, open the conversation on chatgpt.com, click the Export button under any reply (or Export chat for the whole conversation) and choose PDF. ChatSave renders the chat as a clean document and opens your browser's print dialog, where you pick Save as PDF. The file is created on your computer; nothing is uploaded.
Can I export Claude chats to Word?
Yes. ChatSave exports Claude conversations to a real .docx file with headings, numbered and bulleted lists, code blocks, tables and links preserved. It opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages and LibreOffice.
Is ChatSave free?
Yes. Every export format is free with no daily limit, no account and no watermark. The only optional sign-in is for publishing a chat as a public web page, which uses a free Fylo account.
Does ChatSave upload my conversations?
No. PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML, text and JSON exports are generated entirely inside your browser and saved to your computer. ChatSave makes a network request only when you choose Sync to Notion or Publish as web page, and then only to the service you picked.

Can I export only one answer instead of the whole chat?
Yes. An Export button sits beside the Copy button under every AI reply; it exports that reply together with the prompt that produced it. A separate Export chat button exports the full conversation, loading older messages first if the site has hidden them.
How do I save a ChatGPT or Claude chat to Notion?
Create an internal integration at notion.so/my-integrations, share a Notion page with it, paste the integration token into ChatSave's popup and pick that page. From then on, Sync to Notion in any Export menu creates a new Notion page with headings, lists, code blocks and tables as native Notion blocks.
